Are you sure you have your decimal in the correct place?

I thought it was more like 29 cents to 45 cent per gallon for grocery
store RO water.

I use West Lafayette water with a tablespoon of "pH 5.2." Love that stuff.

In Lafayette they are using chloramine water treatment now instead of
chlorine, and that doesn't boil out, which means you've got to do
something else (like not use the water or treat it). In May I made some
beers at Lloyd's using metabisulfite-treated Lafayette water. The
porter turned out just great. Friends drank it all already. (That's
what happens to kegged beer, MAN I never saw stuff go so fast in all my
years of brewing.)

The Maibock is still in the lagering fridge but it sure tasted fine when
I transferred it. The "Pseudo-Kriek" is in secondary waiting for me to
some lambic culture of some sort.
