[THC] water

I generally just unfiltered city/well water, I've had really good beer every 
time I usually just through the pH 5.2 stuff in the water prior to mashing.  
I did use bottled water for my very first batch, just because I wanted to 
eliminate any extraneous things and keep my "experiment" as controlled as 
possible...it's the chemist in me!!

I was listening to this weeks podcast of basicbrewingradio about water and 
had the following question.

   Do most of you use
   1. bottled water
   2. unfiltered city/well water
   3. softened water
   4. filtered water

   for brewing?

   I have always used softened city water.  The podcast commented that you 
should avoid using softened water in brewing.  I have never noticed any off 
flavors.
