Brewers and friends!

It's this coming Saturday and should be great fun. See
http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~swihart/THC/Rebeccas.jpg
for a little picture of
113 Asher St
Lafayette, IN 47901

(Note the one way streets too. I would go up Ferry, past 11th, past the
no-longer-there RR tracks, past Perrin and past Tinkler, to Asher and
turn right.)

Get there at noon or any time until.... what, six I think is the
official end time.

Rebecca, Lloyd, Kevin -- do we need to coordinate on a buying trip, or
an order shipped? What are our friends going to let us help them brew?
There are several ways to do this and they all work fine.

1 -- the new brewer would like to try a kit and we agree to make the kit
appear. They pay for half or whatever is in excess of $20, whichever is
larger.
2 -- the new brewer buys a kit or ingredients and we reimburse them for
half or $20, whichever is smaller.
3 -- the new brewer and their THC friend work together using ingredients
from the experienced brewer's cupboards, plus purchased ingredients if
necessary, and we figure out a way to make sure everybody feels like
they got a decent deal....

I think Lloyd and Rebecca have worked out what is going on with getting
the ingredients for the two friend of hers who are brewing.
Lloyd and Rebecca -- have we got fermenters for G and J to take their
beer home in? Bottles? (I have a lot of bottles and I could let a few
cases go to new brewers I think.)

I will send a private email to the others who are bringing people and/or
talking to friends about brewing at Rebecca's.

ANYBODY ELSE have a friend who might be persuaded to come join this
little brewing festival? I think there is still room for another batch
or two if they are extract+grains or all extract. And anyway, not to
make it sound like challenge, but only the most nuts of people generally
START with all grain. It's not a good idea in generally. Brewing at
least three or four batches from extract, with or without steeped
grains, is the smart approach to learning the basics (while making very
drinkable ale) before jumping into the all grain business, which does
not require huge intelligence (you might have noticed), but it's an
awful lot of details and organization, and more equipment.

See you there!
