I'm calling this the "fall callout" meeting, just because I can. Even
putting up little tear-off info notices:

Feel free to put one up somewhere.

It's always interesting to do this, feels like I'm inviting all kinds of
people I don't know to my house. Which I am. But I suppose until
something frightening happens (much more frightening that Stephen
running through the street with a keg on his shoulder) I will continue
to take this little gamble. (Note that my postal address never appears
on the posters, just an email address for inquiries).

If I thought it was potentially bad for the club I wouldn't do it. But
so far it has proven that it is neutral or slightly good for the club to
advertise a little like this. It seems that it does not encourage
unsavory characters to show up in droves just for the beer. It seems to
coax out a few interested potential brewers, some of whom don't work
out, some of whom do.

Hope some of you are planning to stop by. There will be brewing and
beer. Witbeer. And now that I'm drying some hops, a side-by-side
comparison of "wild" and modern hops.

JASON -- are you absolutely sure you don't know what hops those are that
I harvested from your driveway? Where did you get them?

LLOYD -- can you maybe ID these hops? Anybody else want to try? I am
pretty sure they're not Cascades and that's about as far as I go. They
are about a third dry. In my garage in John Blichmann's little dryer.

JESSE AND JESSIE -- are you in on this witbier brewing idea at all? If
I don't hear from you soon I'm going to have to make other plans, but
that's OK, I know you're mighty busy.
