Right, sorry to leave that out but I was rushing.
Winter Warmer. LBC. Every February, have to watch the LBC website to
know when it will be and when the tickets will go on sale. (The event
is Feb 9th this coming year.) Fundraiser, all proceeds to Laura
Williams Scholarship Fund. (Ya gotta love a chance to drink for
charity!) Greg invites all the Indiana breweries and a LOT of them show
up. They bring beer. And the can sell merchandise. The homebrew club
is invited to have a table to promote homebrewing. Greg includes a
"barbeque and burger buffet" type meal in the cost of the ticket, which
is a classy and very wise approach (rather than making people buy their
food separately, which always leads to some people skimping, with
resulting bad effects on those people and on the event.)
Our homebrew is NOT included in the ticket price (it is absolutely
illegal to sell homebrew and we need to be very clear on that). We are
there to promote homebrewing and we do not have to serve any beer to
anybody. But we do, have been for.... I forget, five years now? And we
have always had a really good time. And we let people sign up for the
homebrew club email and we sell some T-shirts.
This is the first time tickets have gone this fast, but not a surprise
because it's been getting faster every year.
Nancy -- I'm hoping you'll be there are can help with the THC table? We
need people who can talk about homebrewing, answer questions, and you
will be great. Are you planning to attend?
