What an unpleasant disappointment. I'm shy about passing judgment
swiftly on something like this when I know zero point zero about the way
restaurants and breweries are run. But ouch. Maybe it's a
long-standing although little known policy. He runs the business as
well as he knows how, and there is likely some reason for a rule like
that. There are stupider sounding rules which actually have somewhat
non-stupid reasons, or used to. I hope the staff person was not
unpleasant to you and I'm expecting he or she was just doing what they
are trained to do. I doubt if they much enjoyed disappointing you like
that either. After many years I still remember very well what it feels
like to be on the waitstaff's side of the table or counter.
Greg Emig used to be on our email list, and I thought he might be on
this (newer) Mailman list, but I can't find mail at lafayettebrewingco.com
or greg at lafayettebrewingco.com now, so I suspect he never signed up for
it. He has been generous and cooperative regarding the club,
consistently and for years, and I know he works his tail off to make
that place work well. It's painful to consider that two parties of whom
I'm fond have come to such a disagreeable situation. I hope he writes
you and somehow things get smoothed over.
Best regards,
Linda
