Points for Homebrew Club of the year are awarded for placing in these competitions, as well as for individual placements in the National Homebrew Competition.

The deadline for entries is March 21st. We will have our intra-club competition either at our February meeting ( which has not been set yet ), or at a separate event in late February or early March.

My secret sources have told me that John Blichmann is choosing a Feb
date for a meeting at his place. For those of you who failed to show up
for the July 2007 get-together he hosted (which was most of you, but
summer meetings are sometimes like that and we had a blast just the few
of us anyway!) you will be happy you made time to stop by and see some
of the inspiring things that there are to see. Like the 22 cu ft
freezerator with the 2"x6" collar and the hoist&track for lifting
half-barrels and lowering them into..... I can't wait to see what he's
done lately.
For those of you who think of Blichmann Engineering as simply a name you
see in Zymurgy, don't miss this meeting and the opportunity to meet the
guy and share some homebrew club camaraderie at his home in Lafayette.
He's been a homebrewer and member of the club for many years. There
are several good reasons he is not able to attend very many meetings
these days, and their names all escape me right now. They're all girls
and they're about 13 and 11 and 9 if I'm not too far off. Cornering
John at his house is about the only way we get to see him much anymore!
(But you'll be at Cincinnati this summer, right, John?)
I'm thinking maybe I'll just brew a porter one of these days soon too.
John's place would be a great venue for having a little competition to
find the club winner to submit in March.
Linda
