From Ron Smith -- sounds like he had the flu twice recently too (survey
says that's what had me down twice in a five week period....)

They are looking for help. Contact Ron as per his instructions in this
email. Note also his remark that he could use a hand from one or two
people this weekend.

(His emails are always a bit long and detailed. I gave up before I
decided if this email does or doesn't say how many entries there are.)

(Lloyd did you get yours down there yet?)

------msg from Ron of FBI -----------------------

Everyone,

Here are some final details for this AHA Club-Only competition event
that the FBI is hosting. Please read this over and help out where
you can if possible. The eyes of all the homebrew clubs in the
country are focused on us right now, so let¡¦s put our best foot
forward and put on a great event. More details are below in this
email, but here is what we need to address:

1) We need to choose the FBI¡¦s entry on 22nd.
2) We need judges and stewards for the competition on 29th.
3) I need some coordination assistance this Saturday, 22nd (one
person).

1) We need to decide on our FBI entry for this competition. This
will be done this Saturday, 22nd at my business location on the NW
side (106th and Michigan Rd), probably around 2:00. Please let me
know ASAP if you have a Brown, Robust or Baltic Porter to be
considered. If you can¡¦t make it on Saturday, but have a beer to be
considered, let me know and we can make arrangements to get it
before Saturday. Reply to RonSmith at MarketWiseSolutions.com
<mailto:RonSmith%40MarketWiseSolutions.com>.

2) We still need some judges and stewards for the judging on the
29th. I have already heard from many of you, but there have also
been some cancellations, some maybe¡¦s, etc., so combined with my flu
bugs and other chaos in my life, it would be really helpful to get a
fresh reply with your plans if you can help out with either judging
or stewarding. Reply to RonSmith at MarketWiseSolutions.com
<mailto:RonSmith%40MarketWiseSolutions.com>. Also,
please provide your current rank and BJCP number if you have one.
BJCP points are awarded for this competition (I think). The judging
will also be held at my business location on the NW side (106th and
Michigan Rd). All the beer is already here, I have plenty of room
and parking, there are plenty of restaurants near by, etc. Judging
will start at 10:00 (or possibly 3:00 depending on the number of
entries and judges). If possible, we will do 1 round, then a final
round to pick the winners (this would be the 3:00 start time).
Otherwise, and this is probably more likely, we will do 2 small
rounds (starting at 10:00), separated by lunch, then a final round
to pick the winners. The schedules for these 2 scenarios look like
this:

 >>> Scenario 1 (most likely):
--- 10:00 ¡V 11:30 for first round
--- 11:30 ¡V 1:00 for lunch (we can go to a nearby restaurant)
--- 1:00 ¡V 2:30 for second round
--- 2:30 ¡V 3:00 for a break
--- 3:00 ¡V 4:00 for final round
--- 4:00 or so on for optional beers and dinner (perhaps at Rock
Bottom North)

 >>> Scenario 2 (not likely, but possible):
--- 3:00 ¡V 4:30 for first round
--- 4:30 ¡V 5:00 for a break
--- 5:00 ¡V 6:00 for final round
--- 6:00 or so on for optional beers and dinner (perhaps at Rock
Bottom North)

Please let me know asap how you can help. Reply to

3) I have been receiving all the entries here at my business and I
have been staying on top (so far) of getting them unpackaged and
into my refrigerator. This has actually been a huge job, that was a
bit unexpected. The unique packaging methods used are certainly a
study in human ingenuity (or stupidity in some cases). ?º Anyway,
from here, I need some help getting every beer entered into a
database and to get everything planned for next weekend¡¦s judging.
Just 1 or maybe 2 people to help me out this weekend, 22nd, would be
great. Please let me know as soon as you can. Reply to

I think that is all for now. This is going to be a fun event.

My mobile is 201-6535 if needed for any reason.

Thanks,

Ron Smith
