<DIV>Fellow Members:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> The American Homebrewer's
Association Club only Competition for porter ( the Perfect Porter Challenge
) will take place March 29th. In these competitions one entry is
evaluated per homebrew club. Points for Homebrew Club of the year are
awarded for placing in these competitions, as well as for individual placements
in the National Homebrew Competition. </DIV>
<DIV> Not only is porter a
popular style among club members, but this competition is being hosted by the
Indianapolis homebrew club, the FBI. This makes transport of our entry
very easy. </DIV>
<DIV> Accordingly, we would
like to encourage all club members who have porters on hand, or who would like
to brew one soon, to consider submitting your porter to be judged by a panel of
our certified beer judges to be chosen as our club entry. The deadline for
entries is March 21st. We will have our intra-club competition either at
our February meeting ( which has not been set yet ), or at a separate event in
late February or early March. </DIV>
<DIV> So with six weeks or so
ahead of us, lets fire up our pots and produce some excellent porters from which
to choose a club beer to represent us at this competition. More details as
to the date of our judging will follow in the near future. Thanks,</DIV>
